Your Pontoon Boat Entertaining Guide
Pontoon boats are popular for a number of reasons, not least of which is their wide, expansive decks that provide plenty of space for entertaining large groups of people. If you’re interested in changing up your next event by hosting it aboard your pontoon, then you’ll want to apply these tips to ensure your party goes off without a hitch.
Decorations
Choose lightweight paper or plastic decorations instead of heavy glass items when decorating your boat. Make sure you securely attach decorations so they don’t fall into the water. Garlands, matching plates and napkins, and cute window clings can make your party festive!
Food & Drink
Cutting up food items into bite-sized pieces and storing them in containers will make it easy to prepare your food on board the boat. If you’ve got a boat grill, you can host a cookout with hamburgers, vegetable kebabs, hot dogs, or grilled chicken. If not, you could have cold cuts and crudités and chips with dip for people to snack on. Paper plates, plastic cutlery, plastic cups, and paper napkins will prevent you from having to do too many dishes. A cooler full of canned or bottled drinks may be easier than any other drink option on board a boat.
Clean-Up
While your guests are aboard, it’s wise to have a way for them to wash their hands. You could get a big pump bottle of hand sanitizer, or you could set up a large canteen full of water that empties into a bucket with a soap pump and paper towels nearby.
Keep containers for recyclables and trash in a convenient place, and ensure they have secure lids to prevent any waste from floating into the water.
Spray cleaner, paper towels, and bleach wipes will be your friends when it comes to cleaning the boat’s surfaces after the party’s over. A broom, dustpan, and mop can help you clean the decks.
